Quarkonium production in deep-inelastic scattering
Since its discovery in 1974, the J/ψ meson has provided a useful laboratory for quantitative tests of quantum chromodynamics (QCD) and, in particular, of the interplay of perturbative and nonperturbative phenomena. The factorization formalism of nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD) [1] provides a rigorous theoretical framework for the description of heavy-quarkonium production and decay. This formalism ...
متن کاملCharm production in diffractive deep inelastic scattering
The diffractive open charm production is computed in perturbative QCD formalism and in the Regge approach. The results are compared with recent data on charm diffractive structure function measured at DESY-HERA. Our results demonstrate that this observable can be useful to discriminate the QCD dynamics.
متن کاملHeavy Quark Production in Deep-Inelastic Scattering
We review recent results from the H1 and ZEUS experiments at HERA on charm and beauty production in ep collisions at 300 318 GeV centre-of-mass energy.
متن کاملJet Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering
Two-jet cross sections in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at HERA are calculated in next-to-leading order. The importance of higher order corrections and recombi-nation scheme dependences is studied for various jet-algorithms.
متن کاملCharm Production in Deep Inelastic Scattering
Charm quarks are produced copiously in deep inelastic scattering (DIS) at HERA. At sufficiently high photon virtualities, Q, the production of charm quarks constitutes up to 30% of the total cross section [1,2]. Previous measurements of D∗ cross sections [1,2,3,4] indicate that the production of charm quarks in DIS in the range 1 < Q < 600 GeV is consistent with QCD calculations in which charm ...
